Guy Greetings from Stampin' Up! for simple male birthday cards

Stampin' Up! Guy Greetings Stamp Set

Busy week last week for me with Stamp a stack of birthday cards.  We made 24 cards 6 designs and 4 of each card.  Here's one using a popular stamp set called Guy Greetings along with the new Stampin Up Spring catalogue Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  This is similar to the Cable Knit one we had at Christmas as it creates a 3D effect on your card with deeper texture than ordinary embossing folders.  This particular design is super for nature cards too especially with Bee stamp sets like the one in Dragonfly Dreams.

It teamed up well with the Urban Underground designer series paper to give a luxurious feel using small strips of the specialty paper in the pack.  Can you see that you can get 2 sentiments out of one punched Decorative Label too by stamping once then turning the shape through 180 degrees before stamping again.

The car itself is stamped in black Staz On ink onto a Stitched Shape Framelit square.  Simple but effective.  This was a popular card.  You could change the colours easily too to suit the favourite colour of the recipient.

Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrators Techniques Blog Hop

Another month another Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrators global Totally Techniques Blog Hop.  Our technique this month is all about 'reflection'.  This is a fun and easy technique and all you need your stamp, ink and the acetate imaging sheet from your Stampin' Up! stamp-a-ma-jig, stamp positioner.

If you've arrived here from Nadine's blog what did you think of her wow project?  You're here now with Zoe Tant Stampin' Up! UK demo and I've used the perfect set for nature lovers and also a great set for men's cards, Stampin' Up! The Wilderness Awaits.

So the reflection technique is achieved when you stamp an image onto your card stock and then stamp the image again onto your imaging sheet. Stamp it carefully so as not to smudge it.  Then turn the imaging sheet through 180degrees and flip it so as to place it onto your card stock below the original image.  Do this carefully and don't allow the imaging sheet to move.  Then gently rub the imaging sheet sheet so that the inked image on it goes as a reflection image on your card stock.  

I've actually heat embossed my first image in whisper white and then used my aqua painter, markers and re-inkers to colour the Mallard and the reeds.  I also used a watercolour wash to colour the sky and add water to the reflection pool.  

I've added some burlap with machine stitching and sentiment from Wetlands stamp set along with some foliage from the Wetlands set too!

Stampin' Up! Nailed It with some nuts and bolts

When I made my Hey Chick card for Totally Techniques baby wipe technique blog hop I was keen not to let the lovely self made ink pad go to waste so I also made this card using the same technique detailed in my Stampin' Up! Blog Hop post.  I used the fab set Nailed It which is in the Stampin' Up! UK spring catalogue and is a hit for male cards.  I used the Build It dies that coordinate too on the nuts and bolts and ruler using silver foil card to create a modern look.   I cut a separate screwdriver in silver foil and also stamped it first on whisper white card and then die cut it again to add a colourful handle which I coloured with Stampin' Up! markers.

An additional bit of texture was created with Stampin' Up! Timeless Textures by stamping and heat embossing the 'grid' stamp across my baby wipe ink pad background which was stamped with Gorgeous Grunge.

Quick Tip
If you use the Build It framelits to cut the hexagon nut you can keep the circles from the centre and add a score line to create screw heads.

Christmas Card Club - Snowy Mountains

 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration Carried Away Designer Series Paper

Thanks to the fabulous free SAB Carried Away DSP I have managed to join in Kate's Christmas Card Club Challenge this fortnight.  I panicked a bit when I saw the theme of Snowy Mountains wondering what on earth I could do, but then this gorgeous paper fell into my lap with an order from Stampin' Up!.  It's free with a £45 spend and is perfect for an easy, simple Snowy Mountain Christmas card.

I have cut a part of one sheet of the DSP and coloured odd parts to add some colour.  I've added Santa by embossing him, his sleigh and reindeer in copper and a sentiment heat embossed on vellum and attached with our hand held stapler.  A little pom pom trim giving a snowball effect.

The mountains look great with hot air balloons from Lift Me Up stamp set and Up & Away thinlits too!

Stampin' Up! Mediterranean Moments for Special Memories

Stampin' Up! is definitely near the top of my 'best jobs I've ever done' list as there's so much opportunity to achieve fabulous incentives not least the annual incentive trip. With the help of my fabulous team and wonderful customers I've been lucky enough to achieve a few now and last year's one was a Mediterranean cruise, which is why I've chosen Mediterranean Moments stamp set from the Spring Catalogue to share with you today.

The images remind me of a fabulous holiday then and also one with my family some years ago when we visited Rome, Florence and Pisa.  I thought it might be too much history and sightseeing for the children who were then just 7 and 11, but they loved it as did Martin and I.  

My card is very simple.  The image is stamped firstly onto thick white card stock with memento black ink. I stamped it again with black Staz On onto watercolour paper and then used my new favourite Stampin' Up! watercolour pencils and an aqua painter to colour the image.  I always tell my customers I'm not a Colourer Inner, but I'm really pleased with how this turn out.

Once I finished the colouring I used the Lots of Labels frame lits to die cut my image and then carefully adhered it over the original stamped image just giving a slight impression of it carrying on just like my memories of happy times spent.

Stampin Up Birthday Blast Welcomes new team

Stampin Up Birthday Blast is a fun exploding set that has been my choice today for making 'Welcome' cards for new team members of The Tantalizing Stampers. It's exciting that folk have joined to share the fun and realise what a great opportunity Stampin' Up! offers crafters to get their lovely craft stash at a discount.  You can of course work on earning some extra cash too, but it's perfectly OK to just be a little selfish and enjoy the discount just for you.

Me I love to share craft with folk. It's fun and keeps me out of mischief and I like meeting new people and catching up regularly with the new friends I've made over nearly 9 years of being a demonstrator.  Yes it's nearly my anniversary and I can't believe where the time has gone.

Stampin Up Rose Wonder - just right for a Ring of Roses

It's time for a challenge at Moving Along with the Times.  Our theme this month is Ring 'o Roses and I've used the Stampin Set Rose Wonder with co-ordinating Rose Garden thin lets to make my card.

I've cut flowers from the smallest die in the set and added half inch circles to the reverse in pink pirouette.  Each flower is then attached to a ring of silver thread to make my ring o' roses!

To create the simple background I made a stencil by punching different sized circles in a piece of thin window sheet and then added whisper white craft ink through the stencil using a Stampin' Up! sponge across the diagonal of a piece of pink pirouette card stock.  I also used one of the retired stencils from the Christmas catalogue to add some blushing brides dots.  A handful of rhinestones to give that bit of bling I so love and my layers are mounted onto a blushing bride card base.  I used the Project Life corner rounder to just soften the right hand bottom corners.   The white dots are done in a Bokeh style way with no other colour beneath just the card stock.  It's quite effective, but very simple to do.

Christmas Card Club - Stampin Up Holly Berry Festive Foliage

Another fortnight another Christmas Card Club challenge, but I've been really organised this week and have 3 to share with you.  Rachel set the challenge of Festive Foliage, all my cards use the Stampin' Up! retired set Holly Berry Happiness, but if you like Holly the punch is still available.  Above I've used the fabulous Stitched Shape dies and the Layering Circles which includes some scallop edged circles to create a focal point.  I used the 3 step stamping set to create the image and added a separately stamped bow which you can punch out easily.  Love the metallic enamel shapes for my bit of bling.  Do you ever stamp your envelopes too?

This card uses the same holly set with another sentiment from Tin of Tags set.  I've heat embossed the image with copper embossing powder and added night of navy holly berries.  A simple matting layer onto a base card also in night of navy card stock. 

A vintage version of card number 2 with the outline of the holly again embossed before I stamped in the leaf colour and berries.  A little smudging with a sponge around the edge of my base and matting layer of crumb cake with the same ink to soften the edges.  

A veritable trio of wreaths sharing plenty of festive foliage.
