Christmas Card Club - Stampin' Up! UK Punch Art

Christmas Card Club Penguin
Another fortnight and time for another Christmas Card Club Challenge, set this time by Carol.
The challenge being to incorporate a penguin on your card.  I found this cute little fellow and adapted him slightly to what I had to hand, by googling Stampin' Up! Punch Art Penguin.  This is a great way to find images for punch art and often there are some explanations of punches used.

I've used the Hardwood stamp on my signpost and Happy Hour for my holly.  The decorative dots embossing fold gives a fab snow effect;  you might remember it was a gift during our annual Sale-a-bration promotion, but if you missed it you'll be glad to know it's going back online in our new annual catalogue which goes live on 1 July. If you haven't got your copy yet please contact me to make arrangements to get one.

Colours used above include soft sky, silver, garden green, real red, pumpkin pie, chocolate chip, whisper white and basic black.    The punches are numerous but to name a few circles, mosaic, scallop circles, owl punch and elegant butterfly.  Can you see where they all appear?

Please now visit all the blogs of the other lovely ladies in our Club as they have lots of gorgeous inspiration for you.

Have a great week and back soon with my Father's Day Card.  Can't show today as my Dad will get it on his return from a weekend with friends.

Hugs Zx

Stampin' Up! UK Retiring Products Selling Fast!

By now you're realising I'm a bit of a fan of Gorgeous Grunge.  It's such a useful set for adding texture, background and depth to your projects and is just the ticket if you don't like too much 'white' space.

I've teamed it with Label Love and used more retiring colours midnight muse and gumball green with gold.  Rather bold, but by it's softened with the watercolour wonder washi tape which I love as it's so easy to use and it suits those with OCD as you can 'cut' the ends neatly, but is also great for anyone in a hurry or who doesn't worry about straight edges as it tears for a more vintage look.

As you know I love a bit of bling and so sequins feature here along with a wee metallic clothespin/ peg.  The tea lace paper doilies are a very cost efficient embellishment at just £2.75 for 24 when you only use a half like me here they go along way for the money.

The finishing embellie is a retiring in colour dahlia adhered simply with a mini glue dot!

A simple quick and easy card!  You may also recognise the layout which I used on previous cards and then enlarged for an 8 x 8 scrapbook layout. You can see them in this stamping scene post.

Go check out the bargains in my Stampin' Up! UK online shop!

Back soon.

Stampin' Up UK Honeycomb Embossing

Stampin' Up! UK Honeycomb embossing another way!
A long time ago I was asked to demonstrate a technique at a Stampin' Up! training event. I used a stylus to emboss a stamped image from the reverse, having stamped it on vellum first and then put the vellum onto a paper piercing pad.

Now it's even easier to do as you can just use the inside of an embossing folder and your stylus from the Stampin' Up! Simply Scored Scoring Tool and any embossing folder. I used Honeycomb for this pretty birthday card and although I've used pink pirouette, raspberry ripple, crumb cake and soft suede you could easily swap out the colours to turn it into a card for a man with a less girly border punch.

Which leads me on to remind you that the scallop border punch and raspberry ripple card stock, ink and embellishments are retiring at the end of the month.  Pop over to my Stampin' Up! UK online shop to see what's retiring and place your order before it's gone for good.  Many items have generous reductions on them so don't miss out on a bargain.  The items on the retiring list are only available while stocks last!

Why not have a try at embossing on vellum with your stylus!
